Guiltless Peppermint Chocolate Milkshake

December 18, 2014/in Beverages, Recipes

Recipe by Chris Newport, Nutritionist and Head Coach

Guiltless Peppermint Chocolate Milkshake

What’s the first ingredient one would assume is in a milkshake? ICE CREAM. Don’t get me wrong…ice cream has its place in the world (moderation anyone?). But when you want a healthy meal replacement on a more regular basis, the sugar’s gotta go. Here’s the guiltless version of a thick and delicious peppermint chocolate milkshake that will balance your blood sugar by using belly-flattening fats from avocado made in my favorite Vitamix.

Plus, you’ll appreciate the brain boosting flavonoids from the cocoa and potassium punch from the dates.

Don’t like peppermint? Use your favorite extract (almond or vanilla work great here). And with a nice combination of protein, fat and carbohydrates, you’ll be satisfied for hours!
